Your OT-Security Expert Hubertus Storck
Specialist for OT Security in critical infrastructure, energy supply and chemical production
After completing my studies as a graduate in electrical engineering (MSc master's degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering) at the University of Hanover, I worked for national and international companies in various industries. Today, I am an experienced IT security professional specialized in OT security. My field of application extends to industrial control and production systems in critical infrastructure, energy supply and the chemical industry.
Over the past ten years as an OT security professional, I have gained in-depth practical knowledge, initially at a large IT system house and IT service provider, then at a global manufacturer and market leader of automation systems, and finally with assignments on the operator side in the chemical industry. I designed and implemented OT security concepts for production plants in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations (e.g. in accordance with BSI KRITIS, StörV KAS 51) and in conformity with international OT security standards (e.g. IEC 62443, IEC 62351, ISO 27019, NERC CIP, NIST CSF).
Committed to OT security, also in committees and organizations
In addition, I have actively contributed to the further development and standardization of OT and IT security in national and international committees and security organizations. I was an active member of working groups on OT security in the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (VDE) / German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (DKE) and also as a technical subject matter expert (SME) in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
I am also committed to the subject of OT security in an voluntary position: In 2010, I co-founded the non-profit association (ISC)² Chapter Germany e.V. and voluntarily built up a lively community of active IT security professionals in the Rhine/Ruhr area, which meets regularly.
Since summer 2024 I am self-employed as Senior OT Security Architect & Consultant. As an OT security expert, I have been offering my extensive and profound experience and professional know-how to B2B corporate customers from the industrial, critical infrastructure, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors ever since.
